In her early years in the industry, Jilla was the voice of many national commercials and soundtracks. You could hear her regularly on commercials for NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, and the WB. She was the voice of Regis and Kathy Lee, Candid Camera, Dharma and Greg, Hawaiian Air, Rosie O’Donnell, and Must See TV to name just a few.
Although Jilla lends her talents to many shows, recently she has been getting back to her big band roots with her own show “Not too Young to Swing.” Her mother, Jilla Webb (Sr.) lead vocalist for the Harry James Orchestra and MGM recording artist, not only passed on the gift of the song, but also her significant catalog of charts she used in her own career with MGM and The Harry James Band. Jilla is excited to carry on the musical legacy her mother began in the 1940’s, using these historic charts in her show today.
While Jilla is not touring, she shares her talents by working with the stars of tomorrow in artist development. In addition to giving seminars, and teaching private voice lessons, she was on the artistic team as a vocal coach for Le Reve, at the Wynn Casino Las Vegas. Currently she has clients on Disney, signed to independent record labels, she coaches Miss Teen Southern Alberta, and former Miss Nevada, has clients on cruise ships, casinos, and in touring shows around the world.
Jilla is eager to share her first big band CD, using her mom’s charts from the Harry James Orchestra recorded with the Troy University Jazz Ensemble. This CD, That Old Black Magic Called Love, is available now! In addition to this CD, she shot a documentary on the making of the CD and it’s a musical archeological experience to show fans what it was like to hear this music for the first time in over 50 years. Following this, she is recording her first Christmas CD and is beginning to write her first original swing CD.
